“Kristen was my doula while I gave birth at George Washington University Hospital in DC. I waited until the last minute to book a Doula, so we only had one prenatal visit and then the actual labor. She was incredibly helpful at the prenatal visit and very attentive to me and my husband’s questions. She has a wonderful personality that is very kind and easy to get along with and you know she’ll make sure your needs are met. She took time to explain methods we would try — I wanted a natural unmedicated birth, and she showed my husband how he could assist and be involved. We also reviewed some exercises and stretches for me to begin preparing with. I had a complication that led to me needing to be induced early (and my birth plan went right out the window of course). We called Kristen once I was 5cm dilated as it happened in about an hour and a half and she got there quickly and stayed with me the rest of the time. Even with an epidural she was able assist me in trying different positions, managing the pain and weathered the 4.5 hours of pushing before I ultimately had to have a C section. She worked wonderfully with the slew of staff that was in and out of our room during that time and advocated for me when the cesarean was first brought up and I was adamant about trying to avoid it. Though it wasn’t the birth I imagined, Kristen was incredibly reaffirming and encouraging to me calming my anxiety of things out of my control. Highly recommend!” -Brindley

“Taking birth classes with Kristen was such a pleasure! She was friendly and really geared the pacing of the class to the group and created great opportunities for conversation and connection between us. The information was useful and well presented and the hands on practice invaluable.” -Peyton

“Kristen is an exceptional childbirth educator. My husband and I learned so much from her class. She is incredibly knowledgeable about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. She provided excellent resources, helpful prenatal exercises, and a variety of effective laboring techniques. As a first-time parent, I now feel far more confident about having an unmedicated birth after taking her class.” -Mia
