Kristen Nero is a doula, childbirth educator, and lactation specialist serving women of the greater D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan areas. Her journey to birth work began in 2017, following the birth of her first baby. She has been a fully certified Bradley Method childbirth educator and doula since 2018, and a certified breastfeeding specialist via Lactation Education Resources since 2025. Prior to getting into birth work, Kristen attended Notre Dame of Maryland University, where she studied biology and graduated with high honors. She has since become a mother of 2. Both of her children were born without intervention and at home.
While she radically supports any and all birthing choices, her specialty lies in preparing women for natural, unmedicated birth in any setting - hospital, birth center, or at home. She supports her clients by emphasizing prenatal exercise, meditation, autonomous consumerism, and the science of physiological birth.
When not working, Kristen can be found reading for pleasure, exercising, doing yoga, hiking, or gardening. She resides in Bowie, MD and serves clients within a 50-mile radius of her home.
"We traveled from Baltimore to take classes with Kristen and we are so glad we did! She is extremely knowledgeable about pregnancy, preparing for labor and delivery, and the postpartum period, and we felt very informed about what we can expect on this journey! She taught us about nutrition, showed us lots of great pregnancy exercises and techniques for labor, and provided lots of online written and video resources, which were very helpful in keeping both of us, but especially mom, healthy and mobile throughout pregnancy."
